This quarter has been “The Big One” for Twitter. If you linked here from Twitter you most likely already knew Twitter was something big. Something. We don’t know what, yet. But definitely big. As of mid April, Twitter became a monster, changing a health growth chart line into rocket ship!
Now Twitter seems to be everywhere. Even on Larry King, a show hosted by a man who admits he doesn’t own a computer. Yet, he has his own Twitter account.
(1) 12 Twitter Apps For Your iPhone
Twitter is everywhere you are and it’s extra pretty on an iPhone. To it up right, I recommend Tweetie. Not just a shrunk version of twitter. It’s highly customized for the iphone. Easy to attach pictures from iphone camera and makes Twitter look great on the iphone. Everything you need in one, blazingly fast app. It’s $2.99 and I’ve spent hours and hours on it. Definitely worth this pocket change.
(2) 4 Tips to Avoid “iPhone Thumb”
Use a neutral grip when holding the device. A neutral grip is when the wrist is straight, not bent in either direction (not strong or weak). If possible, place pillows in your lap and rest arms on pillows or use the device supported on a desk or tabletop. This will allow you to keep your head in a more upright position and therefore decrease neck strain. Sit in an appropriate chair. This is a chair that allows you to put your feet comfortably on the floor and also provides good back support. Switch hands frequently and vary the use of fingers/ digits This will allow the one hand or other fingers/digits to rest and reduce fatigue.
(3) A link to Oprah’s Twitter account. Oprah put her stamp of approval on Twitter by announcing the @0prah Twitter account on live TV. Has Twitter jumped the shark? I don’t think so. Twitter jumped into the big leagues.
(4) Computer World article cataloguing a virtual Who’s Wh0 of failed bids for Twitter. Facebook. Google. Apple. Twitter founders claim that Twitter is not for sale. If that’s true, they better figure out a business model because you can’t live on venture funding for the long term. Will it be Google’s advertising? Will Twitter have it’s own ad system similar to Facebook? Why doesn’t Twitter mine the demographic data gold that Facebook has proven so valuable?
Twitter it something big. Nobody knows what. Not even the founders, it appears. But it’s big.
